Amazon's Digital, Device and Alexa Support (D2AS) is looking for a Localization Program Manager to lead high-profile localization projects to support Amazon devices and digital services globally. To excel in this position, you will be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You are used to dealing with tight deadlines, managing different and competing priorities and handling a variety of stakeholders, including language service providers, content authors, and internal stakeholders. You are comfortable reporting localization data to the leadership team. You have a proactive approach to problem solving and risk management. You use sound business judgment to make quick decisions. Most importantly, you have deep expertise in Localization, including CAT tools and machine translation, language quality assessments and localization vendor management.

About the team
The D2AS Localization team enables other D2AS teams to translate customer-facing and TCA-facing content while optimizing the cost, quality, and speed of translation to match D2AS business needs. We own translation and localization of Help content, KC materials, Help video scripts, DYK strings, mass mails, SYSKA alerts, MessageUs, Cantilever, strings, supporting Amazon Devices and Digital Services, in 50+ languages.
Furthermore, the team works on other initiatives and goals, namely automation, localization process improvements, localization asset optimization and contact reduction, with the main goal to reduce manual steps, while increasing the quality of the localized content, and optimizing the workflow.

Aufgaben

The Localization Program Manager role is part of the D2AS organization so your work supports both our external customers and the Technical Care Agents who help them. In this role, you directly influence the experience of millions of customers for some of the most exciting products at Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

  • Liaise with language service providers to establish localization project milestones to successfully deliver complex, global projects Prioritize and ensure a smooth management and delivery of Localization projects for several product lines,
  • Contribute to defining the team strategy
  • Identify strengths and areas for growth to scale the business, including process improvement and optimization
  • Effectively communicate project status and localization data to internal and external stakeholders
  • Represent global localization and internationalization perspective during project planning and decision-making

A day in the life
As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and improving initiatives that ensure the smooth running of our operations. You'll work closely with a range of Amazon colleagues to understand how they work, and what you and your teams can learn, as well as sharing your own expertise. Together, you'll identify exciting new opportunities and will take the lead when it comes to designing their implementation.

You'll encourage and support your teams and colleagues to meet important deliverables, while proactively looking for new, data-backed ways we could do things better. Your work will be integral to your team's success.


Profil
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in program or project management
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
  • Experience identifying and resolving complex issues
  • Experience defining and executing program requirements
  • Experience in leading large, cross functional projects

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience leading process improvements
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
